Overview

Global Utility Hub ("the WATTSHIP") is designed with a privacy-first architecture. The vast majority of the platform operates with zero personal data collection. This policy describes exactly what minimal data is used and how.

Data We Collect

We collect minimal data necessary for the platform to function:

Geo-IP Detection (Automatic)

On page load, we make a single request to ipapi.co to detect your approximate country code. This is used solely to auto-configure your region (US / UK / EU / China), currency, and units. No personal identifying information is stored. The result is cached in your browser's localStorage for 24 hours to avoid repeat requests. We do not share this data.

My Garage (Local Only)

Vehicle entries saved to "My Garage" are stored exclusively in your browser's localStorage under the key uh-garage-v1. This data never leaves your device and is never transmitted to our servers or any third party. Data stored includes: vehicle brand, model name, EPA range, battery size, DC fast charge speed, MSRP, and efficiency rating — all public manufacturer specifications.

Preferences (Local Only)

Language and currency preferences are stored in localStorage under uh-lang-override and uh-currency-override. These are never transmitted externally.

Data We Do NOT Collect

No name, email, or contact information (no accounts on the free tier)
No payment or financial data
No precise location (only country-level from IP)
No behavioral tracking or analytics cookies
No advertising profiles or cross-site tracking
No calculator inputs or results transmitted to our servers

Your Right to Delete

You can remove all locally stored WATTSHIP data at any time:

My Garage data: Use the "Clear All Fleet Data" button in the Garage tray settings
All WATTSHIP data: Open your browser's developer tools → Application → Local Storage → delete keys prefixed with uh-
Geo cache: Automatically expires after 24 hours, or clear via browser localStorage

Third-Party Services

The platform uses Google Fonts (Geist typeface) via a CDN link, which may log a request to Google's servers. The Guardian Hub directory links to third-party towing and maintenance providers; their privacy practices are governed by their own policies. We are not responsible for third-party data practices.
